What you’ll do:

Role purpose

  • Responsible for leading bids to secure future opportunities with existing and new Customers.

  • Responsible from RFQ receipt and assessment, through to bid submission and contract award. Including securing cross functional resources, coordinating their input into a compliant response and presenting to executive committee for approval through corporate governance and risk management.

  • Understand forward load of bids from Business Development (Sales); in order to align resource for timely kick off and response.

  • Delivering subsequent projects and programmes to schedule, budget and quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop bid plan with Business Development and manage a team to achieve bid deliverables – typically involving Engineering, Procurement, Operations, Quality, Finance, Contracts & Commercial and external partners

• Obtain bid & proposal spend for bid managed opportunities. Ensure resource demand for these bidding activities is accurately captured and controlled via Microsoft Project Server and addressed through resource councils

• May also be required to execute delivery of programmes on contract award.

• Direct, motivate and provide leadership for the team in order to deliver bid/programme to agreed time, budget, quality and benefits

• Ensure effective and open communication throughout the team and with stakeholders

• Direct the supply chain for the bid/ programme

• Integrate the reporting for the programme making best use of available PMO capabilities

• Ensure team complete inputs as per Eaton governance process, conducting gate reviews to schedule including approval from all stakeholders

• Co-operate with management to meet the employer’s legal duties and take reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions

Qualifications:

Qualifications and Experience

• Driven and experienced bid manager with a proven track record of developing and implementing effective plans to secure business and deliver

• Awareness of offset / industrialization requirements

• Strong record of operating in a customer service environment

• Knowledge of the functional disciplines and supply chain that require management

• Track record of building and maintaining excellent relationships

• Equivalent of 5 years’ experience managing bids and programmes or in functional area with proven delivery track record

• Knowledge and demonstrable experience of PPM techniques

• Knowledge of aerospace industry and Cobham/Eaton products

• Demonstrable PPM competences

• Bid/programme performance management – KPIs, metrics

• Extensive knowledge of MS Office – particularly MS Project

• Willingness to develop
