Eaton Corporation EHS Technician - 2nd Shift in Waukesha, Wisconsin

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a EHS Technician - 2nd Shift to join our team on Badger Dr. in Waukesha, WI!

The hourly rate for this position is $24.50 per hour.+ $2.50/hr shift premium. The core hours are 3 pm - 11 pm.

This position is offering a sign-on bonus of $2,000*, less applicable withholding .

*Bonus terms:

  • Bonuses are being offered for a limited time only. Applications must be submitted on or after January 1 st , 2024 to qualify.

  • Bonuses are only applicable to specific job types and shifts; additional terms and conditions may apply.

  • Associates must be employed at the time of the payout.

  • Bonuses will be payable in two installments: $1,000, less applicable withholding will be paid after three (3) months of employment and the remaining $1,000, less applicable withholding will be paid after nine (9) months of employment.

What you’ll do:

The EHS MESH Technician is responsible for assisting with coordinating environmental, health, and safety activities to ensure the organization develops and deploys a strong EHS culture. In this role, you will assist in making EHS a value-add process through sustainability actions and projects. There will be a focus on improving EHS metrics. Additionally, you will assist with creating Zero Incident Safety Culture (ZISC) based on positive recognition and teamwork.

In this function, you will:

  • Help deploy and improve EHS programs that apply to the plant.

  • Create, coordinate, and conduct EHS training.

  • Participate and add value to EHS Committee.

  • Help address and correct plant EHS issues.

  • Manage and track plant EHS hazard identification program.

  • Participate in EHS audits.

  • Help identify EHS plant opportunities for improvement.

  • Educate, monitor, and train employees in safe work procedures.

  • Conduct and Maintain safety training and inspection documents as evidence of compliance.

  • Complete various environmental reports and safety audits in a timely manner.

  • Provide EHS support for plant projects and daily operations.

  • Support managing programs to ISO 14001, OHSAS 1800, and MESH standards.

  • Add value by daily driving and implementing actions that are aligned with plant Top EHS priorities and EHS Action Plan.

  • Complete additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited institution AND/OR a minimum of 2 years of safety-related experiences AND/OR a minimum of 2 years of leadership experience (Team Lead, Utility, etc.).

  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.

  • No relocation is being offered for this role. All candidates considered must live within 50 miles of the Waukesha, WI facility. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a trainer in PIV/Crane – both classroom training and over the road training.

  • Emergency First Responder Experience is preferred.

Skills:

  • Ability to pursue an OSHA 10 Hour training certificate within first six months of hire

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Must show a commitment to working safely, basic leadership skills, and history of integrity.

  • Ability to plan, schedule, receive, store, ship and deliver chemicals and hazardous waste.

  • Ability to work overtime when required.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 LBS; bend, twist, grab, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, use both hands to lift and lower materials, and perform all other essential duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
