What you’ll do:

The primary function of this position is to provide end user and manufacturing support. This role involves providing support to manufacturing operations as well as supporting device lifecycle management, and ensure compliance with all of Eaton's policies and procedures with minimal supervision.

You will also take day to day IT ownership for site(s), site infrastructure health & site customer experience, ensuring fast and quality restoration of site IT service interruptions.

Our customers include all of Eaton’s users (local and remote).

-Deployment, configuration, and support of hardware (PC, laptop, mobile, printing, etc.), client operating systems, and productivity software for end users.

  • Hardware support, including PCs (networked and non-networked), OT Systems (Ind 4.0), hand scanners, printers, switches, wireless access points and virtual machines.

  • Troubleshooting of industrial network devices (switches/routers) and connecting these into the existing IT infrastructure

  • Assist with support of site-based IT systems.

  • Be ‘local IT’ and partner with enterprise IT support teams.

  • Follow IT Service Management (ITSM) processes: asset management, change management, incident management, request management, problem management, and project management to serve end users and maintain high levels of performance in achieving service level agreements.

  • Responsible for annual refresh of IT disaster recovery plan, as well as walkthrough of plan with stakeholders if required.

  • Participate in application, infrastructure, security, operational excellence initiatives, and support activities as needed.

  • Participate in troubleshooting and resolution of larger IT issues. Participate in efforts related to root cause analysis and problem management as needed.

  • Identify opportunities for improvement. Ability to draw conclusion from complex data sets to improve a metric or effort. Can present solutions and drive the improvement from data analysis.

  • Liaison between IT and customers to drive IT standards. Advocate, influence, and assure compliance to IT standards and policies. Share information about best practices with end users to increase user satisfaction and productivity.

  • Participate in internal audits related to IT processes, procedures, software, and systems. Influence budgeting, forecasting, and spending for IT infrastructure as required.

  • Adhere to company policies and procedures always, including, but not limited to ethics, data protection, information security, human resources, and compliance policies and procedures. Protect both Eaton's physical and information assets.

  • Communicating complex technical terms to non-professionals working in the plant (management, department leaders.)

  • Understand and protect our cyber-security presence

Qualifications:

University degree with at least 1 year of experience in the field OR secondary school diploma & 3-5 years of experience in the field

3-5 years of experience in the field

Skills:

-MS Windows Operating Systems

  • MS Office Suites

  • Hardware - Networked PCs, PC peripherals, Non-Networked PCs, OT Systems (Ind4.0), hand scanners, printers, switches, wireless access points, virtual machines, UPS, R&D Labs, and mobile phones.

  • Working knowledge and troubleshooting skills of wired and wireless networks.

  • Working knowledge and troubleshooting skills of servers.

  • Ability to adapt and learn; to support complex IT environments that may contain various operating systems, desktop, network, phone, and mobile technology

  • Miscellaneous equipment used in manufacturing locations such as bar code scanners, specialized printers, industrial PCs, RF Scanners, etc.

  • Understanding of Cybersecurity principles

-Working knowledge and troubleshooting skills of wired and wireless networks.

  • Working knowledge and troubleshooting skills of servers

-Excellent customer service and communication skills

  • IT Service Management (ITIL)

  • Ability to relate well to people at all levels of the organization

  • Analytical and critical thinking – necessary for identification of issues and potential troubleshooting

  • Demonstrates accountability, passion, and a willingness/desire to learn

  • Ability to perform some complex tasks with relatively little to no supervision

  • Provide out of hours, ‘on-call’, critical support of production lines.

  • Scheduled out of hours (weekend) work.

  • Close working partnership with the facilities and maintenance team.

  • Some travel required (adjust % based location)
