Eaton Corporation Buyer-Planner in Nottingham, United Kingdom

Eaton's manufacturing plant in Sutton in Ashfield designs and manufacturers alarm, signal, control and notification equipment used in harsh environmental conditions. We're currently looking for a Buyer-Planner to join our Supply Chain team.

In this exciting new position, you will be responsible for managing a defined portfolio of suppliers and materials. You will also create and maintain an effective production schedule that ensures customer requirements are met wherever possible. You will ensure that the highest levels of material availability are achieved and will have full ownership of Purchase Order placement, Purchase Order rescheduling, Purchase Order acknowledgment, invoice queries, quality notifications and material price variances associated with their portfolio.

Responsibilities:

  • Generate purchase orders in line with approved MRP and proactively seek supplier acknowledgements to deliver against on-time delivery targets

  • Maintaining minimum stock levels whilst avoiding disruption to production

  • Review invoices in query and address as appropriate in a timely manner taking necessary action and seeking the required approval to resolve and avoid any reoccurrence

  • Create and maintain production orders in line with demand, material availability and capacity constraints

  • Create reports detailing load and capacity requirements for the plant to meet the demands of the business

  • Coordinate the reduction and pro-active management of NCR’s

  • Conduct formal market testing exercises

  • Support on escalations of all portfolio items from other members of the team

  • Full supplier management

  • Continuous improvement activities

  • Drive and support activities relating to the control of inventory

Qualifications:

  • Previous purchasing and planning experience in a make-to-order manufacturing environment

  • A solid track record in conducting negotiations

Skills:

  • Excellent organisation and administration skills

  • The ability to communicate at all levels internally and externally

  • The willingness to challenge the status quo and ability to deal with ambiguity

  • The ability to generate improvement ideas and successfully implement them
