Eaton Corporation Maintenance Technician II in North Charleston, South Carolina

Eaton’s IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician II.

The hourly rate for this position is $27 - $40 per hour. The hours for first shift are as follows; 7:00 am - 3:00 pm

Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What you’ll do:

In this position you will:

• Performs mid expert level break-fix & preventative maintenance including: observing devises in operation to location root cause of problem; dismantling devices to gain access to and remove defective parts; examining parts to detect imperfections; adjustment of functional parts of devices and control instruments; repair and/or replacement of defective parts; testing of device to observe performance; and performing tests for electrical circuitry and mechanical systems; reconditioning and repairing machine tools.

• Construct and alter physical facilities to accommodate changes or improvements.

• Identify and sources parts, supplies and repair items as necessary. Perform evaluations of alternatives to improve cost and / or reliability of equipment.

• May be required to setup and operate multiple machining operations including but not limited to: lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. May perform welding tasks.

• Provides assistance to other technicians and leadership to project teams. Performs expert functions as a part of training and development.

• Troubleshoots and analyzes complex control systems to resolve in-depth software/ hardware and configuration problems.

• Utilizes predictive maintenance technologies to collect equipment performance data. Observes trends and makes recommendations to improve equipment reliability.

• Completes and conducts on-the-job training and technical self-study programs for career development.

• Perform electrical power work under the direction of an electrician and in accordance with MESH 8.0 LOTO procedures. Run wire and cable, install fixtures and perform testing and diagnostics.

• Follows all safety related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions and guidelines. Situational awareness and identify unsafe behaviors and conditions.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of related experience in maintenance industry.

• Minimum 2 years CNC machine tool maintenance experience

• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of North Charleston, SC be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in lean manufacturing.

• Experience in aerospace industry.

• Experience working in manufacturing facility operating on a 24/7 schedule.

• Knowledge of CNC control systems, especially Fanuc and/or Siemens would be preferred.
