Eaton Corporation Global Category Manager in Moon Township, Pennsylvania

Eaton’s Corporate Sector division is currently seeking a Global Category Manager. Candidates must reside in Beachwood, OH: Moon Township, PA or Southfield, MI to be considered.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $105000.03 - $154000.04 a year.

What you’ll do:

The Global Category Manager role develops long term category strategic planning, creates category metrics and ensures regional category strategies are aligned with Corporate and Business goals, deployed concurrently and meets the requirements of Supply Chain Management across the Eaton Enterprise. The GCM must develop deep category knowledge and become a true expert, knowing the spend portfolio as well as the end markets in order to provide leadership guidance for the businesses and the global purchasing organization in the region. Builds and maintains strong relations with stakeholders and is political savvy deploying organizational resources and supporting functions in reaching their goals. Collaborates with other functions (operations, quality, logistics, R&D and sales) for new product line development as well as solving any existing supply continuity challenges and to prevent reoccurrence of such.

Our supply chain management team creates a bottom-line impact by driving cost management and operational benefits. Within our supply chain, the Global Category Manager will drive towards optimal conditions (resiliency, cost, contractual, quality, delivery, innovation, VAVE) for global suppliers, leveraging synergies across businesses and driving the “One Supply Chain” philosophy.

This role also has additional responsibilities to be the global point of contact and business liaison person for Eaton's Global Purchasing Organization liaising between all Eaton business units in every region. This will include the coordination of all the Global Purchasing Organizations related activities; category strategy, cross regional supplier negotiation, global Senior Leadership Team report out preparation. This role will include continuous collaboration with other centralized commodity Global Category Managers.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution

• Minimum of five (5) years professional experience in Supply Chain or Operations

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience as category manager

• No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of one of the locations listed in the job description to be considered.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications:

• MBA

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Economics from an accredited institution

• Professional Supply Chain related certification such as Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) and/or Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)

Skills:

This candidate will gain a clear understanding of cost drivers and industry best purchasing practices.

•Demonstrates ability in strategic process creation and implementation, knowledge and experience in successfully deploying category strategies and driving cost-out.

•Demonstrates ability to lead cross-functional / global teams in the development, implementation, and achievement of business results for cross-functional business initiatives and category strategies.

•Must be able to take a leadership role in driving change in the organization.

•Creative thinker and has a vision of how to drive the organization to the next level of strategic category management.

•Has a demonstrated ability in the area of strategic process creation and implementation and demonstrates a bias for action and implementation.

•Must be able to identify and implement emerging supply management tools.

•Strong oral and written communication skills.

•Global business experience is required with experience in negotiating with global suppliers.

•Must have the ability to directly lead and manage and influence people within the organization without having direct reporting lines.

•Demonstrated ability to create price GAPs and drive results via fact-based negotiations.
