Eaton Corporation Junior Quality Engineer in Long Branch, New Jersey

Eaton’s ES EMEA CS OPS division is currently seeking a Junior Quality Engineer.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $55125.0 - $80850.0 a year.

What you’ll do:

  • Act as the voice of the customer to ensure the agreed requirements are met.

  • Drive up standards and foster a right first-time culture.

  • Drive product and process non-conformance investigations and associated root cause analysis activities including concession management. Prepare/communicate Quality Alerts internally to eliminate potential risks and expand solutions to other relevant products & processes.

  • Responsible for Quality management Systems (EQMS) compliance and improvement. Achieve objectives as detailed by Eaton’s Quality Management System (EQMS).

  • Responsible for day-to-day quality activities

  • Provide a customer interface with respect to quality issues. Prepare documents required by customers (e.g., Certificate of Compliance, Origin of Certificate, RoHS etc.)

  • Work closely with suppliers, providing guidance on product and process quality requirements. Collect and analyze supplier quality data to drive improvements. Communicate supplier related non-conformances with them. Follow up necessary activities to eliminate risk of re-occurrences.

  • Coordinate deployment and application of controls supporting risk-based continued process verification and monitoring of lifecycle product quality.

  • Support new product launches by providing advanced quality planning. Perform verification and validation of the new design/change in accordance with Prolaunch activity matrix (Part inspection & tooling form preparation, MSA and capability studies, Process Flow, PFMEA & Process Control Plan, PPAP completion etc.) to ensure compliance to customer requirements and producibility standards.

  • Support and lead continuous improvement initiatives. Analyze quality metrics (e.g. Customer returns, concerns and internal scraps, FPY rate etc.) and recommended action plans. Identify areas for improvement and drive process enhancements. CAPA management.

  • Contribute to quality assurance training programs. Conduct training sessions on quality-related topics.

  • Support ECN implementation in manufacturing processes when required.

  • Participate in internal and external quality system/product audits. Ensure compliance with industry-specific quality standard (e.g., ISO 9001)

  • Maintain a safe and clean work area.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates residing within a 50-mile radius of Long Branch, NJ will be considered. Active-Duty military members are exempt from this geographical limitation.

  • Ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering

  • Minimum 1 year of Quality Engineering Experience

  • PPAP experience

  • Experience in use of basic inspection equipment (calipers, micrometers etc.)

  • ASQ Quality Engineer Certification

  • Exposure to Six Sigma

Skills:

  • Actively implement proactive and preventive Quality techniques

  • Actively implement structured problem solving and robust Root Cause and Corrective Action techniques eg 8D, 5-Why, A3

  • Exceptional skills in Microsoft office, including Excel, Power Point and Word

  • Team oriented, but able to work independently and manage multiple tasks
