Eaton Corporation Sr. Human Resource Generalist in Highland, Illinois

Eaton’s ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a Sr. Human Resource Generalist.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $80250.03 - $117700.04 a year.

What you’ll do:

  • Serves as a key point of contact for employees to connect with the human resources department, while promoting Eaton values and providing courteous and timely service to all employees.

  • Leads various employee relations activities such as employee coaching, conducting investigations, and supporting the performance management process.

  • Supports hourly talent acquisition and management activities, including building and maintaining a successful candidate pipeline, diversity and veteran outreach, and serving as a liaison with relevant hiring managers.

  • Strengthens employee retention and engagement through establishing and coordinating the standard onboarding and orientation processes with integrated efforts from various functions.

  • Builds organizational capability by supporting the Eaton talent management and organizational effectiveness initiatives in areas such as succession planning, organizational capability reviews, leadership development training, and performance management.

  • Coaches and influences frontline leadership regarding relevant policies, practices, laws and regulations to ensure all human resource policies and programs are driving an engaged and accountable culture.

  • Manages hourly employee attendance programs and policies as governed by union collective bargaining agreement, Eaton policies and relevant laws/regulations, liaison with leadership on attendance discrepancies, issue attendance related discipline in alignment with Eaton attendance policy.

  • Serves as local subject matter expert for employee benefits and payroll questions, coordinating with remote centralized HR service center and payroll teams as necessary, and coordinates benefits enrollment meetings, communications, and processes.

  • Generates and analyzes regular and ad-hoc reports for regulatory, budgeting, and auditing purposes.

  • Facilitates and participates in engagement committee/s in support of the overall Eaton goals, such as employee engagement, community involvement, and inclusion & diversity initiatives

  • Partners with HR Services to complete employment record and compensation updates and audits.

  • Administrates the end employment process for both voluntary and involuntary separations.

  • Prepares and distributes HR related communications.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum 2 years of increasing responsibility in a progressive HR environment supporting global functions and/or manufacturing operations.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates residing within a 50-mile radius of Highland, IL will be considered. Active-duty military members are exempt from this geographical limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 or more years of increasing HR responsibility

  • Previous experience providing support to a unionized workforce

  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment

  • PHR certification

Skills:

  • Proficient in project management

  • High level of proficiency with MS Office products/database management skills

  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality

  • Organized and efficient

  • Self-directed and able to investigate and implement solutions with limited guidance or direction

  • High degree of comfort navigating ambiguous situations and ability to quickly shift focus as priorities change

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrates professionalism and a service-oriented personality with all levels of employees and senior leaders

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, lean work environment

  • Strong teamwork and collaborative skills

  • Demonstrated ability and desire to progress to more senior levels of the Human Resources function
