What you’ll do:

The primary function of this position is to focus and drive the Design to value/VAVE methodology by working closely with various Eaton business groups as a part of Direct Material Productivity (DMP) team.

-The applicant should be well versed with the VAVE process viz. Costout and NPI methodology from a reputed organisation preferably from Electrical sector

-Strong technical knowledge is required on the various products in Electrical sector viz. LV Circuit Breakers, MCB Design, Fuses, Breaker operational principle and application

-Should demonstrate the strong decision making skills, communication & collaboration skills to manage the various skakeholders globally across the Eaton business groups to generate more costout opportunitities

-The applicant should lead various Cost reduction projects by following Design to Value methodology and setup a benchmark for costout and cost avoidance processes

-The applicant should capture internal customers requirements, exhibit excellent project management skills, presentation skills, strive to achieve desired output in a fast-paced environment."

"-BE/Btech/ME/Mtech Electrical engineering with 6 to 10 years experience in Electrical/Electromechanical Product design

-Should have led and worked on the Design, VAVE for LV Circuit Breaker, MCB Design, Contactor, Switch Disconnector, Electrical fuses, Panel boards, Relay products etc.

-Extensive experience working for product design, multiple material selections, raw material technical specifications, Cost reduction projects is required

-Strong knowledge and experties in Low Voltage power distribution products in terms of application, design considerations, working principles

-Expertise in Product Teardown analysis, Design Benchmarking, Competitive Benchmarking, Function analysis and able to do & lead the technical evaluations with experts to make decisions

-Should have experience in BOM costing and able to do the costing at the components level

-Experience in witnessing tests like Temperature rise ,Short circuit, thereby estimating impact on product performance from changing material/components.

-Should have knowledge on the global design standards like IEC,UL,CSA, NEMA or any other compliance standard.

-Modify existing products to support customer, manufacturing, applicable regulatory and industry standard, and market requirement.

-Experience in PLM system is required to get drawings and cost data ( Enovia / SAP preferred) and analyse them to generate cost effective ideas

-Should have a strong relationship building capabilities within and outside the team, passion to learn new technologies and collaborate to achieve better outcomes for Cost savings opportunities.

Qualifications:

BE/Btech/ME/Mtech in Electrical

6 to 10 years experience in industry. Various electrical products LV Circuit breaker, Fuses, Panel boards, LV/MV switchgear

Skills:

Product design, LV Breakers, MCB Design, Electromechanical products Costout, Teardown & benchmarking, BOM costing
