Eaton Corporation Capacitor Repair Technician in Greenwood, South Carolina

Eaton’s ESSG CPSD PRD Power Reliability Division division is currently seeking a Capacitor Repair Technician.

The hourly rate for this position is $17.00 per hour.

What you’ll do:

PRIMARY FUNCTION

This person must be and remain proficient in all Capacitor Repair Operations within the department. They must be able to work closely with the operators and Production Team to repair capacitors and get out of flow units back into production to maintain an efficient flow of units.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Set-up, trouble shoot, and perform all operations in the repairing / disposition of capacitors and fluid. Example – replacing bushings, resistors, tanks, terminal caps, running the Spy (Helium Leak Detector), aerosol can disposal, fluid reclamation / tank draining

  2. Verify all units have been scanned to the proper location

  3. Review in-process inventory and determines which units should take priority

  4. Perform rework on a 1st -in -1st out (FIFO) basis making adjustments for “rush” units

  5. Follow Standard Work.

  • Complete appropriate documentation – Grit blaster log (photo helic), daily housekeeping, scrap tickets, Aerosol Log, Leak Data Form, Non-hazardous Waste Stickers
  1. Check finished product for general quality / appearance

  2. Notify appropriate support group (Supervisor / Engineering) following escalation process for all issues

  3. Perform 5S+ house-keeping activities continuously

  4. Work efficiently to achieve departmental goal for amount of rework on hand

Qualifications:

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE

• Must become certified to operate PITs and Hoists

Basic Qualifications

• High School diploma or G.E.D.

• Authorized to work in the United States without Company sponsorship

Qualifications Preferred

Semi-Skilled work which includes at least one of the following: vocational education, apprenticeship, in-plant, on-the-job, or essential experience gained on other jobs. The usual amount of time spent by the average worker in acquiring the information, learning the techniques, and developing the facility for acceptable performance in a specific job, occupation, or field of work as outlined in the employee handbook and posted salary wage schedule
