Eaton Corporation I-4.0 Engineering Technician in El Paso, Texas

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a I-4.0 Engineering Technician. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a team that is being formed from the ground up. This position is responsible for supporting the deployment of Industry 4.0 tools & technologies such as augmented reality, factory simulation, process control & traceability, digital work instructions, additive manufacturing, and data analytics. The core hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:45 pm. The hourly rate for this position is $25 per hour. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. What you’ll do:

• Support major projects to deploy Industry 4.0 tools & technologies into manufacturing operations.

• Collaborate with cross-functional resources to execute projects as required –Operational Excellence, Production, Quality, and others as necessary.

• Support Industry 4.0 project objectives to continuous improvement initiatives focusing on strategic value streams.

• Assist Industry 4.0 Senior Engineer in the development, submission & approval of business cases for Industry 4.0 project opportunities.

• Train key plant personnel on the Industry 4.0 tools & technologies being deployed to ensure successful adoption and achieve improvement objectives

• Develop knowledge & expertise in the industry 4.0 tools & technologies to be a subject matter expert (SME) for the El Paso PDCA site teams.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.

  • Analytical and critical thinking – necessary for identification of issues and potential troubleshooting

  • Proficient with computer and software tools – including advanced Excel capabilities (pivots, macros, etc.)

  • Manufacturing system experience

  • Must have one of the following:

  • Professional Technical bachelor’s degree in Electronics/Electricity/Mechanics OR

  • University student in the Engineering field with a minimum of 85 credits passed OR

  • Minimum of 250 (two hundred and fifty) hours of studies in the areas of Electronics/Electricity/Mechanics/Quality.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution.

• Bilingual (Spanish and English)

• Knowledge and experience in I4.0 solutions (ie. Additive Mfg., real-time OEE, Digital Work Instructions, Predictive Maintenance, Digital Traceability, Machine Learning AI, Simulation, Collaborative Robots, Autonomous Mobile Robots, Augmented Reality)

• Knowledge of CAD modeling.

• Knowledge in Simulation and FEA tests.

• Ability to set up industrial network devices (switches/routers) and connect these to the existing IT infrastructure.

• Ability to communicate complex technical terms to non-professionals working in the plant (management, department leaders, etc.)

• Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as fabrication, assembly & testing, as well as materials management and quality processes

• Good problem-solving capability
