What you’ll do:

The Plant Manager for the Coimbatore Plant will lead in the execution of the company’s manufacturing policies, programs, and strategies to ensure that as the company grows manufacturing capabilities meet or exceed all industry and customer requirements and over time is utilized with consideration for budget, customer value, and employee safety . Continuous Improvement : Lead implementation of Lean Manufacturing initiatives at the Coimbatore location; Incumbent will review direct report’s standard work as applicable recommending revisions as appropriate. Will champion, maintain or enhance a culture of continuous improvement. Person stays abreast of the current thinking and consensus of the external continuous improvement community as it relates to the culture of Eaton. Challenge peers, as well as self to be a catalyst in the creation and maintenance of a culture of continuous improvement. Offer new ideas to support fulfilment of department goals and procedures and Engineering for continuous improvement, quality control, safety, and company profitability. Conduct EBS Pull events, Sponsor RIEs & Bootcamps and support new initiatives in association with CI leader. People Leadership: Serve as a coach to the Operations Self-Directed Work Team to ensure both strategic, tactical and consistent administrative of practices, procedures, and policies. Stay abreast of the employee relations climate/employee culture to ensure solutions to problems are developed while issues are minor; collaborate with Human Resources on employee relations issues including but not limited to discipline and development. Develop a working relationship with internal Eaton departments to deliver the most efficient service. Develop employees to their full potential and providing challenging opportunities that enhance employee career growth; recognize and reward employees for accomplishments. Participate in the selection and on-boarding of new employees for the operations & actively involved in the proper training and development of new employees. Offers new ideas to support fulfilment of department goals and procedures for continuous improvement, retention of customer base, company profitability and employee job satisfaction. Work on special projects as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Incumbent will work collaboration with the Operations Self Directed Work Team direct the manufacturing operations ensuring that as the company grows, manufacturing capabilities meet or exceed all industry and customer requirements and overtime is utilized with consideration for budget, customer value, and employee safety.

  • Lead in co-ordination of plant activities through the planning with Cell Coordinators to ensure the manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.

  • Establish and monitor overall plant performance for achievement of established production and quality standards.

  • Determines work order priorities for production departments and communicates such through ERP system as applicable, schedules work orders.

  • Advise of any machinery or tools needing to Maintenance promptly; reviews any capital investment needs with Director of Manufacturing.

  • Formulate solutions to minimize lead time as well as maximizing product quality, production employee job satisfaction and profit margin.

  • Maintain a clean and safe plant, partnering with Safety and Environmental Coordinator to ensure compliance with Indian Labor & Industry safety regulations.

  • Maintain all High Five Metrics green by meeting Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory and Productivity targets.

  • Conduct business in accordance with Eaton Business System policies & procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Operations or equivalent Engineering experience

  • Experience: Total 20+ years experience with lean manufacturing experience required; Min 8 years prior experience in managing, coaching, training, and leading people required

  • Experience working with MNC business and in manufacturing industry preferred.

  • Excellent analytical, trouble shooting, and decision-making skills

  • Ability to motivate and retain employees to get excellent performance

  • Ability to understand and carry out corporate direction quickly and with minimal supervision

  • Must be well-composed while under pressure maintaining positive attitude at all times in a demanding, fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and analysis skills required accompanied with a persona of a high character teammate.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse environment with all levels of employees.

  • Willingness to continuously learn and be open to feedback to improve individual performance.

  • Must maintain safe maintenance practices and adhere to safety requirements.

  • Demonstrable experience with PCs, prior experience ERP systems required; must be proficient with Microsoft Office products and capable of quickly becoming proficient with Eaton ERP systems.
