Eaton Corporation Satellites Manager in Burlington, Ontario

Eaton’s Protection, Control, & Solutions Group (PCS) is currently seeking a Satellite Manager to join the team based at our Burlington, ON site. Relocation assistance within hiring country is not offered. This position requires 25% travel.

What you’ll do:

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Operations Director, the Satellites Manager will lead the operations of 6 Satellite location across Canada, to assure attainment of safety, financial, growth, market penetration and quality objectives . This includes responsibility for pricing, negotiations, promotion, order entry, customer order engineering, customer service, quality and manufacturing of the panelboard and switchboard (P&S) and industrial control (enclosed control and drives) products sold by these plants.

In this function you will:

• Lead and motivate a team of entrepreneurial Satellite site managers at 6 locations to achieve market and profitability growth in the manufacturing and marketing respective products.

• Direct and establish objectives for individual operation’s marketing activities which include local P&L, territory growth, and various other operational metrics.

• Develop and maintain relationships with the field sales force and key distributors to determine and assure market success.

• Direct the customer order engineering, systems, manufacturing, and quality of the operations to assure cost, quality and service objectives are achieved.

• Administer Eaton policies and develop and implement operation policies and procedures to assure compliance and uniform application under the Eaton vision.

• Direct and manage development and implementation of cost, productivity, and customer service improvement programs.

• Work in conjunction with the Satellite plant managers to develop and implement market driven strategies and coordinate with other manufacturing plants.

• Develop and execute strategic capital spending plans for all operations to assure adequate capacity to meet division and product line growth objectives.

• Approve and manage the development and administration of wage/salary and benefit plans.

• Develop and implement sound Human Resource policies, practices, strategies, and programs to assure effective recruiting, training, motivation and retention of a high-performance management team and work force throughout the Satellite locations.

• Direct the development and implementation of procedures and plans to assure a safe work environment in all locations.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical or business field is required.

• Minimum seven (7) years of operations and/or commercial progressive experience.

• Minimum five (5) years of managerial or leadership role experience.

• Electrical product knowledge.

• Eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship.

Preferred qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years previous experience leading a P&L.

• Sound understanding of the market and distribution network served by the regional Satellite locations.

• In depth knowledge of the entire order process from quotation through installation of the product.

• Proven management and leadership skills.

Position Criteria:

• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written skills are vital for success in this position.

• Broad understanding of the Eaton Business System (EBS) and how it should be applied.

• Must stay abreast of commercial issues that arise and can affect the market conditions of individual products.

• Must develop and sustain an infrastructure that supports the strategies of the Canadian Division.

• Must have the ability to think strategically in setting goals and objectives for all operations.

• Promote one consistent message educating the organization on the Eaton business model to ensure continuing operations, to maximize returns on investments, and to increase productivity.

• Must be able to think critically and solve complex problems in a faced paced industry.
