Eaton Corporation Plating Team Leader - 3rd Shift in Beltsville, Maryland

Eaton’s IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Plating Team Leader - 3rd Shift.

The hours for the role are 11pm - 7am

The hourly rate for this position is $32.00 per hour.

What you’ll do:

Primary Functions:

• Provide technical assistance with set-up and troubleshooting of plating baths, rectifiers, anode placements, calibrated equipment.

• Coordinate with supply chain and operations teams to schedule work on the line.

• Ability to work in a team environment.

• Facilitate training and mentoring of personnel on all processes and procedures.

• Work with other teams (Quality & Mfg Engineers) to improve processes and resolve problems.

• Investigate production problems to determine cause and resolution and able to inspect defects on plated parts.

• Manage daily and weekly production levels to support site demand forecasts.

• Focus on key metrics such as: on-time delivery, through-put, scrap reduction, and overtime.

• Maintain equipment and generate maintenance requests as needed.

• Schedule Hazard Waste material with EHS manager

• Review process specifications with engineering

• Oversee work of Plating Operators to ensure Work Order compliance.

• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Exercise proper waste disposal under the guidance of Front-Line leader or Lab technician

• Participate in lean and 5S+ activities, as required.

• Follow shop environmental and safety procedures, including proper personal protection equipment.

• Other duties as assigned.

• Perform daily bath maintenance (this may include filter changing, chemical additions and cleaning of

plating lines) as dictated by the maintenance schedule.

• Complete pre-inspection report

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.

• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Enovia

Preferred Criteria:

• Basic knowledge of lean tools

• Minimum of one to three (3) years’ experience in manufacturing processes

• Ability and desire to learn and apply lean systems and tools.

• Ability to read Engineering prints and interpret and carry out a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule format.

• Strong analytical and mathematical skills

• Capability to solve problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where limited standardization exists through communication and teamwork.

• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures and equipment, OSHA regulations, manufacturing methods, routings, and standards

• You must be able to lift up to 35 pounds within any given day. The job could require standing on your feet anywhere from 8-10 hours a day. Will require focus evaluations from proximity and frequent use of hand to eye coordination.

• Proficiency in MRP Systems such as MfgPro
