Located in Bedhampton, Eaton's Aerospace business stands as a global leader in aerospace fuel systems.

What you’ll do:

Responsible for total customer satisfaction and satisfactory financial performance for the development, production, and/or support phases of complex component and systems development program(s). Includes successful management of scope, cost/resources, schedule, subcontract management, and performance management of various assigned program(s)

  • Provides monthly project updates (Program Status Report – Green/Yellow/Red) of current situation relating to contractual milestones and problem/high risk areas (e.g., technical, cost, and schedule).

  • Provides input and direction to the program team(s) in areas of customer concerns, potential changes in scope and risk assessment.

  • Directs overall performance on the program(s), assuring that the “Triple Constraint” of Cost/Scope/Schedule is met and resources necessary to achieve this constraint are appropriately identified and communicated.

  • Manage organization and leadership of team(s) in a matrix environment.

  • Monitors overall performance during all phases of the program(s) and develops and implements corrective action and recovery plans as required.

  • Manage the customer relationship, maintaining customer satisfaction, yet assuring that scope is managed appropriately and contract changes are secured where appropriate.

  • Leads team(s) in identifying, quantifying and mitigating risk.

  • Responsible for overall life-of-the program(s) successful financial performance. Maintain and report key metrics for senior management including development program milestone OTD and PROLaunch status.

  • Responsible for the overall execution of complex component and/or system programs in accordance with the Eaton Aerospace PROLaunch process.

  • Works with the Group sales & marketing team to propose and capture new business opportunities for the product family.

  • Assumes market segment ownership with respect to profitability and growth. Ensures new opportunities presented to the business by the group sales and marketing team are evaluated for business opportunity and risk. Supports/leads the proposal team during new bid opportunities.

  • Completes other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• BS / BA preferred

• 7-12 years in aerospace industry or related experience

Skills:

• Training in PMI (Project Management Institute) methodology; PMP (Project Management Professional) certification desirable

• Knowledge of contracts and federal laws

• Knowledge of aerospace industry and Eaton products

• Knowledge of corporate and project finance

• Knowledge with negotiations

• Leadership skills

• Problem solving skills

• Communication skills– both verbal and written with ability to make necessary status reports

• Organizational and planning skills

• Knowledge of the aerospace product development process

• Experience managing programs with: 1) components / subsystems scope of responsibility, 2) medium customer business risk, 3) $700K-$25,000K NRE budget, and 4) $10,000K-$75,000K total program value

• Experience and understanding of the role of Program Management in all PROLaunch gate phases.

• Must have the ability to lead others in a matrix environment communicating expectations and requirements internally and externally.

• Must be a catalyst for change, leading the way for team members and taking responsibility for the performance of the organization and profitability of the program
